SportsDo reads the rush!
White water sports are the ultimate rush – but wouldn't it be great to know stuff
like your speed? With SportsDo running on my phone I've got my real-time speed,
distance and a stack of other stats in my hand, whether or not I'm in coverage.
Live statistics
SportsDo uses the global GPS satellite system to track my progress and deliver live
stats, either on a handy summary page or on selectable giant readouts. The big dials
are essential – I can see what I'm interested in at a glance and change between
stats with one thumb-press. Even cooler is SportsDo's announcement features. SportsDo
can announce my chosen stats at regular intervals through my phone's speaker or
earphones. The voice will even mesh with the music I'm playing.
Immediate review
SportsDo saves all my activity information as I go and it's all available for review
in charts and graphs when I'm finished. There's a useful route trace too. Sure,
I know I've been following the line of the river! But SportsDo shows me the exact
stretch I've covered, and codes the trace for the different speeds I achieved.
Community
SportsDo is more than just a personal performance buddy. It's got this whole community
aspect to it too. I can switch on SportsDo Live so that my live stats are sent to
the web in regular bursts. That way anyone can drop in on my exploits. (You can
restrict who sees what you're up to, by the way.) And when I'm not out paddling
I can use SportsDo Live to see who's doing what around the world, all in real time.
Online journal
My activity information all gets loaded up to the SportsDo portal where I have my
own log page. The portal sucks in my data and organises it for me, mapping my route
and listing the songs I was listening to on the river. If I've taken pictures, these
appear in the log too without any hassle, and SportsDo links them to the map at
the places they were shot. It's like having a faithful (and smart) recorder along
for the ride.
Always with you
Wherever and whatever you're paddling, SportsDo tells you more about your performance
and deepens the experience. It's a great addition to an incredible sport.
