If you select a session in your activity blog, and then drill down to 'edit laps' page you'll see a link to 'edit points' along with the other lap management functions. If you click on the link you'll be presented with an editor which lets you examine the recorded points, and edit them.

If you left click on a point in the lap, you will get a context menu, which allows you to delete the point, or delete all points before or after that point. Being able to delete points is pretty handy, for instance, you might forget to stop SportsDo recording after you finish your activity, and then get in the car, and have a trail of extra points which don't actually reflect what you did in your activity. You may wish to delete 'wild' points that are sometimes recorded by a GPS in areas of poor signal. Once you have finished your edits, hit save and the edited lap will be saved.

A few points to bear in mind:

We used Silverlight as purely HTML editors become unresponsive when editing complex laps.

You will need to have Silverlight 3 installed for the editor to work. Silverlight 3 is free browser plugin and available for PCs and Macs and works with most browsers.

Very long laps with lots of points may take a while to load and save, and the editor can become sluggish. If you intend to edit a lap heavily, there's a feature accessible via 'session tools' to reduce the number of points. If you reduce the number of points, the editor will remove points which are close together, and make the editor much more responsive.

It's a new feature and your feedback is welcome about how well it works and what you'd like to see added to it.

Server upgrade - Completed

Some of you may have noticed SportsDo.net was offline during Monday the 30th when we upgraded servers. We posted notice of the move on the website in advance, and we restored service as quickly as possible, so hopefully nobody suffered any inconvenience. Did that work right way or did you have to try several times? Oddly enough I actually rode my bike along the same route as your run yesterday.

I had a similar problem on Saturday, but the problem seemed to go away later that day, so I suspect this was either my phone or my mobile network, as my data connection can be unreliable at times.

I understand how fustrating these problems can be, and it's not always easy for us to solve them from our end, as problems can be intermittant, and are very hard to replicate under controlled conditions. However since mid-August all my attempts to upload have failed and I have deleted them all as there is no data. I use an HTC 3G and I have no problems with satellite signals and the recording of data on the phone. After each run I upload as normal and get a 'successful' message but when I go the web page there is some data e.g. lap distance but no other stats or a mapping of the trace.
